Today marks the opening of the world premiere of a new opera based on the life of Van Gogh. The opera “Vincent,” written by Pulitzer-Prize winning composer Bernard Rands and Librettist J.D. McClatchy, will be performed at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Van Gogh approached spring with an eagerness to not only enjoy the rebirth of nature in spring, but to also share the colors of life in everything he saw and painted.
Last month the Van Gogh Gallery team had the privilege of visiting The National Gallery in London to take in a few of Van Gogh’s masterpieces in person. The home of one of the greatest collections of Western European paintings, The National Gallery is a remarkable museum to visit.
