With fall being in full swing it seemed appropriate to share a few of our favorite Van Gogh paintings which capture the rustic beauty of autumn. Since Van Gogh often painted outdoors “en plein air,” like the Impressionists, he was able to capture the colors and light unique to the season. Even the still life paintings he created during the fall months embodied the harvest feel and the looming approach of winter.
